Completed Project

Committal Shelter Windbreak

The wind blowing into and around the committal shelter create a near unbearable situation for families of veterans during committal ceremonies. The board is committed to raising money for a windbreak to be built around the shelter to improve conditions during the ceremony. We have commissioned a study of wind direction and patterns, and an architectural firm to devise plans for the windbreak.

Keep checking back for our next project.

Landscape Restoration There is need for ongoing restoration and development of plantings on the grounds to create a more peaceful and comforting environment for those visiting and reflecting. Due to wind, and ice breakage, there is need to replace some of the Colorado Blue Spruce trees and decorative Blue Avina plants and feather grass that have died on the cemetery grounds.

Annual Veterans Cemetery Foundation golf Tournament The Foundation sponsors a golf tournament, annually, on Saturday before Memorial Day. Please contact Gary Leever, at 308-760-1231, Skyview Golf Course 308-762-1446 or Skyviewgolfcourse@yahoo.com for more information or to register for the tournament. All are welcome.
